The benefits of an A/C tune-up
Regularly cleaning and maintaining your A/C unit improves cooling output and efficiency by up to 30%. It can also give you:

- An Energy Smart rebate of up to $200, depending on your income.*
What a technician does during an A/C tune-up
- Checks refrigerant levels.
- Ensures electrical connections are secure.
- Cleans condenser and evaporator coils.
- Makes sure the thermostat functions properly.
*To qualify for the income-eligible rebate, households must be at or below 80% adjusted median income (AMI).
Get rebates on an A/C replacement
If it’s time to get a new unit, choose ENERGY STAR® certified equipment, which is more energy efficient and saves you more long-term. You could get up to $500 in rebates.
Central air conditioner
Get Energy Smart rebates of up to $200 for ENERGY STAR® certified models.
The most common system, a central air conditioner pulls warm air from your home, passes it across a coil with refrigerant and then pushes the cooled air back into the house.
Air source heat pump
Get Energy Smart rebates of up to $250 for ENERGY STAR® certified models.
These units can be used to both cool and heat your home. They extract heat from outside in the winter and from your home in the summer.
Mini-split (ductless) heat pump
Get Energy Smart rebates of up to $500 for ENERGY STAR® certified models.
This system can heat or cool a room without ductwork.
Up to $200 rebate per system. ENERGY STAR® certified central air conditioners use around 8% less energy than traditional air conditioners and have higher energy efficiency ratios.
Up to $250 rebate per system. ENERGY STAR® certified air source heat pumps use the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures to control your home’s heating and cooling. They typically use 5% less energy than regular models.
Up to $500 rebate per system. Cutting cooling costs by 30% compared to conventional room air conditioners, ENERGY STAR® certified ductless mini-split heat pumps use more sophisticated compressors and fans that can adjust speeds to save energy.
