Helping Entergy New Orleans electric customers save money through energy efficiency incentives and education.
Empowering energy efficiency
Energy Smart is a comprehensive energy efficiency program developed by the New Orleans City Council and administered by Entergy New Orleans.
Since 2010, we have incentivized thousands of residents, businesses and trade allies to make energy-saving upgrades. These upgrades have reduced energy consumption and provided cost savings for customers.
Energy Smart awarded $8.9 million in incentives to Energy New Orleans customers and saved 68 million in kWh.
2023Energy Smart completed 335 commercial projects and 19 publicly funded institution projects.
The program served 35K residential customers.
Energy Smart utilized eight DBE subcontractors, hosted 54 trade ally trainings and partnered with 53 commercial contractors.
The Energy Smart Publicly Funded offering achieved 4.1M in kWh savings, reaching 115% of the offering kWh savings goal.
2022Energy Smart awards $11.9M in incentives to low-income designated areas.
2021Energy Smart provided tremendous support to customers during the COVID-19 pandemic with an instrumental contribution to decrease customer bills.
2020Energy Smart met 109% of its energy savings goals, utilizing 86% of the program incentive budget.
2018The program achieved a 14% increase in energy savings over the course of a single program year.
Energy Smart transitioned many custom offerings to prescriptive to simplify and ease the participation path for customers and trade allies.
The program more than doubled the number of non-residential training events and nearly tripled the number of technical training hours provided by the program.
Energy Smart established partnerships with five local workforce development agencies to drive job creation in New Orleans.
Energy Smart was developed by the New Orleans City Council, administered by Entergy New Orleans and launched as the energy efficiency program for the City of New Orleans.
